The DA in the Western Cape welcomes the appointment of Ricardo Mackenzie as the new Provincial Minister of Mobility.
Minister Mackenzie has been a Member of the Western Cape Provincial Parliament for close to 9 years and has served on various committees including Premier and Constitutional Matters, Community Safety, Transport, and Human Settlements.
He is a true servant of the people and has served his constituency and the people of the Western Cape with enthusiasm, integrity and humility.
During his time as the Chairperson of the Transport Standing Committee, Minister Mackenzie championed ending taxi violence, spoke out against the extortion of Intercape services, pushed for the resumption of the Central Line and the restoration of rail services across the province.
His appointment as Minister of Mobility is, therefore, well-deserved and the DA has full faith that he will be an asset to the Provincial Government and the people of the province.
