The DA in Mitchell’s Plain strongly objects to the closure of all SA Post Office branches in Mitchells Plain.
Thousands of residents will be affected by this ridiculous decision, especially those who rely on the post office for the withdrawal of their SASSA grants.
It is unacceptable to expect affected residents to visit other branches, outside of Mitchells Plain far from their homes. People are struggling to make ends meet as it is, and extra travelling costs will only add to their burden.
The DA in Mitchells Plain supports Mayor Geordin Hill-Lewis’ objection to the closure of these branches, and his intention to meet with SAPO.
