The Democratic Alliance (DA) is delighted to welcome six new members to our Hawston branch in Overstrand who walked over from the ANC and ACDP. See photo here.

These new members joined the DA because they believe in our vision for a fair, prosperous, and well-governed South Africa.

Their decision to leave their former political homes and step into the DA is not only a personal milestone, but also a clear indication of the trust that communities in Hawston and the broader Overstrand are placing in the DA’s track record of delivery and accountability.

As community leaders, the new DA members bring with them valuable community experience, deep local roots, and a passion to serve. Their voices will help us strengthen our efforts to fight for safer neighbourhoods, improved service delivery, and a stronger local economy.

People see the Western Cape and municipalities like Overstrand as a beacon of hope. It is where clean governance and efficient service delivery exist – consistently. This is what makes the DA attractive to leaders and members from other parties.

To our newest members:  You are not just joining a political party, you are joining a movement of hope, rooted in values and committed to real delivery. Together, we will continue to prove that the DA is the only real alternative for communities in Hawston, the Overstrand, and South Africa
