The DA welcomes the announcement by the Speaker of the Western Cape Provincial Parliament, Daylin Mitchell, that the 2023 State of the Province Address (SOPA) will be held at the provincial legislature.
The SOPA has been scheduled for Thursday, 16 February 2023. This is the first time in four years that Premier Alan Winde will deliver his SOPA in the chambers of WCPP.
The DA also welcomes the commitment by the Speaker to ensure that this SOPA, like the previous three, will still be accessible to the province’s residents. Speaker Mitchell has indicated that he will be writing to the mayors of municipalities across the province to request that municipal venues are equipped and made available for members of the public to view Premier Winde’s fourth SOPA.
We look forward to Premier Winde’s upcoming SOPA and trust that he will once again deliver an address that will give hope to the people of the Western Cape.
